I have found it to be much better than the commercial plastic kits available thanks to the use of the output transformer and the use of an aerial input coupling coil. All the earphones are tested, something which you won't find elsewhere.

All the build information is provided online so that easy updates can be added. There is no paper documentation supplied. There is plenty of highly educational additional information there, with clear pcitures and explanations for each component. It makes a good school science project, where erecting a long wire aerial should be practical, and all part of the fun.

The particular thing that I like about my kit versus so many others, is that if you live in a flat and can't put up a decent long-wire aerial, you can always go on a walk and attach this portable version to two wires on a long farm fence to get a signal. This is a tried and tested design which has had much success over many years.
