I have found it to be much better than the commercial plastic kits available thanks to the use of the output transformer and the use of an aerial input coupling coil. All the earphones are tested.

* 50mm long, 9.5mm diameter ferrite rod
* 100mm single core red hookup wire

All the build information is provided online so that easy updates can be added. There is no paper documentation supplied.
The particular thing that I like about my kit versus so many others, is that if you live in a flat and can't put up a decent long-wire aerial, you can always go on a walk and attach this portable version to two wires on a farm fence to get a signal.

It's the best working crystal radio I've ever assembled. One problem: a physical manual is not provided. It would be appreciated by many to have a physical copy come in the package.

This looks great but unfortunately there were no instructions on how to assemble the radio. I realise they are available on line but the recipient would have appreciated a hard copy.
