10mm Diameter Electret Condenser Microphone Element Insert with Connection Wires J60-C
This is on item of new electret condenser microphone element with 65mm long flying leads soldered on. The higher quantity options are cheaper per item. The wire is reasonably thick 7 X 0.2 type and is relatively easy to handle during installation without breaking it. These require a low noise power supply of between 1.5 and 10V fed via a resistor of approximately 1K Ohms connected to the red wire. The standard voltage for this type is 4.5V. A D.C. blocking capacitor of something like 10uF is then typically used to feed the signal into the microphone pre-amplifier. Some tape recorder microphone inputs may have this power supply and capacitor internally, in which case they will generally state that on the machine. The sensitivity is -64dB +/-3dB at an operating voltage of 4.5V. The current drain is 0.5mA maximum, S/N ratio is 40dB or better. The output impedance tends to be dominated by the bias resistor, so in the typical case it will always be less than 1K. A data sheet is shown in the secondary pictures. The diameter is 10mm and the total height including the solder terminals and wires is 8mm.
