Through Panel Extension Volume Control Knob for Metric 6.0mm Flatted D Shaft Pots Various, Pack of 1, 5, or 10 Colours and Fit

This is a pack of 1, 5, or 10 items of new control knob which has an 8mm external diameter shaft extension which is intended to go through a slightly larger panel hole, there to fit onto a potentiometer shaft internal to the equipment. Some examples are shown in the pictures. This is the case with a lot of mixers where the pots are vertically PCB mounted rather than fixed to the front panel with a nut. The extension shaft is 11mm long, but the D-shaft part only extends 9mm internally.

The 2mm non D-shaped end part of the extension is internally conical and helps to guide the knob onto the shaft when fitting. The total length of shaft which can be accommodated internal to the knob and extension shaft is approximately 20mm. The height of the knob above the panel is 14.5mm and the skirt diameter is 15.75mm. The material is ABS plastic.

There are two types available, one with a 0.7mm cut-off for the flatted part of the D-shaft, and a tighter fitting one with a 1.5mm cut-off for the flatted part. The tighter fitting 1.5mm cut-off is a better fit for most of the pots that I've seen. When I measure shafts which fit the 1.5mm cut correctly, they are 6.0mm across the round diameter and 4.5mm across the flat to the round part opposite, hence "1.5mm cut," that being (6.0-1.5) = 4.5

The pointer line points away from the flat, towards the round part of the shaft.

These will not fit onto the older style true 0.25" quarter inch 6.35mm flatted shafts.

A customer has informed me that the 1.5mm cut version is a good fit for broken knobs / extensions on the pioneer DDJ-S1.
