This is one item of new, good quality 450V D.C. electrolytic capacitor available in various capacitance values. They are from the Rubycon QXW series.
These are suitable for vave radio and amplifier H.T. supplies. If you have a valve radio which is otherwise working but has excessive hum, this may well be what you want to replace some dried-up old 'two in the same can' horror in the power supply. The ripple current specification generally exceeds that of the old can types by a large margin, and the 450 VDC rating gives enough headroom for working voltage. Operating endurance is given as 2000 hours at 105 centigrade at the full rated voltage and ripple current. They would generally be used in more demanding situations such as modern 100kHz switching power supplies etc. and are rated as such. The capacitance tolerance is +/-20%. I have lower capacitance values from Panasonic on another listing in the shop.
The thin 47uF type is used in some modern flat screen TVs.
I've used these capacitors to replace the power supply caps in a very hummy Murphy B146 big baffle radio five years ago. It fixed the hum, it's still going after ten years, and I'm much happier having these modern types in the PSU than the old ones.
