SS9018 Transistor VHF RF Bipolar Fairchild SS9018HBU

This is a pack of 1, 5, or 10 items of new Fairchild SS9018 NPN VHF transistor primarily intended for use as an oscillator or amplifier up to 10mA collector current. This is the best transistor that *was* in full production with legs on that I've managed to find with an Ft of 1100MHz (700 MHz minimum) and which has a decent D.C. current gain of >100 typical when Ice is below 10mA. This is the "H," next to highest Hfe gain band variant with Hfe of 97 to 146. There probably wasn't a G band available on this high frequency type.

You can get 10mW of linear RF power out of them using just a 5V supply rail if you fancy reproducing one of those cheap and nasty 49 MHz. toy walkie-talkies. I've also used them as an emitter follower buffer on a DAC output to produce exceptionally sharp staircase waveforms. Basically they are very nice, fast, high gain silicon transistors. They are obsolete now, but I bought my Fairchild stock from an approved distributor in the USA in 2019.

Don't be too worried by the high Ft with respect to stability: Often, the lower inter-port capacitance and somewhat lower low frequency gain can make RF circuits more stable.
