This is a used, single gang 500pF (0.0005uF, 0.0005mF, or 0.0005 microfarad) air spaced variable tuning capacitor of brass construction. The manufacturer is Brandes, England. The reduction drive has a whopping 32:1 ratio. The front part of the knob operates the reduction drive and the rear part moves the plates directly for quick tuning. The exact item is shown. The rotor plates have a flexible wire connection for improved conductivity.
