This is one item of new control knob which has an 8mm external diameter shaft extension which is intended to go through a slightly larger panel hole, there to fit onto a potentiometer shaft internal to the equipment. This is the case with a lot of mixers where the pots are PCB mounted rather than fixed to the front panel with a nut. The extension shaft is 11mm long, but the splined part only extends 9mm internally.
The 2mm non splined part of the extension is internally conical and helps to guide the knob onto the shaft when fitting. The total length of shaft which can be accommodated internal to the knob and extension shaft is approximately 19mm. The height of the knob above the panel is 15mm and the skirt diameter is 15.75mm. The material is ABS plastic. An example of the shaft fitting is shown in the auxiliary pictures. The pot is not included.
