12 Volt Flashing LED Pre-Wired 5mm Clear High Brightness Works From 6V To 12V

This is a pack of 1, 5, or 10 items of 5mm diameter flashing LED with 20cm wire leads with a resistor for 12 Volt operation fitted into the leads. Nominal current at 12V is 20mA when lit, and this averages out at 10mA due to the 50:50 flashing duty cycle. The lit pictures are taken using a 12V battery pack comprising eight AA cells. One LED will run for about 260 hours on Duracell or similar good quality AA alkaline cells. Ten LEDs will run for more than forty hours on such a battery pack. The flashing rate is between once and twice per second. When used in a group the flashing is not synchronised. A smaller PP3 type 9 Volt battery can be used with reduced run time.

The Red-Blue and Red-Green types flash the two colours alternately.
The RGB slow fade type fades from red to green to blue in a slow sequence.
The RGB fast fade type fades from red to green to blue is a fast sequence.
The RGB Disco type fades through red, green, and blue, then does a rapid RGB sequence.

Operation down at 6V is still possible on all colours with reduced brightness and approximately 50% current consumption.

If using a power supply it needs to be a regulated type. Nominally 12V train set transformers and old battery chargers provide rectified AC at a peak voltage higher than 12V will kill the LEDs.
